Railways Set Up Their First Health ATM At Borivali Station
Commuters can get 16 types of health check-ups including Body Mass Index (BMI), bone mass, weight, visceral fat, and metabolic age among others at these health ATMs.
Mumbaikars fast-paced life takes toll on their health. Most people complain that they are unable to get regular health check-ups because of inadequate time. In order to solve this problem, Western and Central Railways have announced that they will be setting up health ATM’s kiosks at eight railway stations. This is just the first phase of the exercise and will be later looking at expanding its other stations. The first health ATM has been installed at Borivali’s platform number 3 and it is expected to be operational by the end of the month. These health ATMs are an initiative by YoloHealth wherein they have installed the kiosks.
Commuters can get 16 types of health check-ups including Body Mass Index (BMI), bone mass, weight, visceral fat, and metabolic age among others at these health ATMs. Any commuter that wishes to get a check-up can walk-in at any of these medical kiosks. They will be equipped with basic lab testing and emergency facilities and will be staffed by a medical attendant. It will also be possible to get basic consultation with regards to cardiology, neurology, pulmonary testing, genecology. These ATMs will be a part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
These ATMs will provide first aid care to all passengers. Within three months of installation, it will provide free body screening for all railway employees.
Health ATMS for Central Railways in the first phase will be installed at:
- Thane
- Kalyan
- Lokmanya Tilak Terminus
Health ATMs for Western Railway will be located at the following stations:
- Dadar
- Andheri
- Churchgate
- Mumbai Central
Railways had first set up these health ATMs in Pune and Nasik. As they have been getting a good response for them, they have now decided to bring it to the financial capital. The services offered through these health ATMs will cover 16 parameters (non-invasive) like basic screening for Rs.50 only. And 18 parameters (basic + hemoglobin + glucose) screening for Rs.100. Optional health advisory services can be availed for an additional Rs.100.
